TikTok has brought short clips to the center of attention in recent years, and many social networks are hopping on the bandwagon, with the likes of Instagram and YouTube. However, Kwai-Social Video Network is making strong impressions, and we'd like to present it to you in the following review.
The Kwai app has a decent audience, with well over 100 million downloads on Google Play Store. In its early days, it was used to make short videos for WhatsApp video status updates, Facebook stories, etc. However, Kwai has its own network as well, where you can share your videos with friends and comment on their posts.
Video editing is pretty intuitive and you can put your creativity to work in the form of an 11-second or a 57-second clip. If you are looking to add music to your videos, it can be done from your local music library or from various music channels the app offers. Be careful not to infringe any copyrights though.
Editing is not strictly limited to videos only, as you can edit the photos as well, with a plethora of face filters, text effects, gifs, emojis, etc. The feature we'd like to single out is Status. Here you can choose from a multitude of presets and combine several photos into a short clip with stunning effects.
The app has a very familiar user interface, similar to TikTok, and it's easy to get the hang of. The Discover page is very useful in finding the perfect hashtags and profiles for your liking. One downside it has is its regional availability. As of 2021, the global version of Kwai is available only in Brazil, India, Turkey, South Korea, Russia, and Vietnam. In the forthcoming years, Kwai aims to expand its market and may soon be accessible in your country!
